Dream Stream offers a sanctuary where reality dissolves, allowing your consciousness to drift along a dream-inspired lazy river. This VR experience invites you to embark on a seamless journey through six distinct zones, where you can peacefully indulge in solitude or share the experience with friends and fellow explorers.
Buck treated each zone with its own unique thematic essence, while maintaining an overarching dreamlike and meditative vibe. Music and soundscapes play a pivotal role in evoking the desired emotions and setting the tone for the entire journey. The brief was simple: "Imagine what people will want to listen to while floating through all that while hanging with their friends." Composers curated ambient soundscapes to accompany the journey, along with original compositions tailored for designated "gathering spaces," where participants can convene and engage in unhurried conversations.
Home Pool + Onboarding
A bouncy bass synth ricochets around your brain as dreamy textures lull you to sleep, transporting you to the Dream Stream universe.
Ethereal ambient textures act as a palate cleanser while the user decides which wonderful world they will next enter.
Theta Waves
Relaxing, calming, minimal, and a bit magical. This is your brain just before it slips into dreamworld.
Pawllywood
Glossy hyper pop meets J-Pop. An ode to the most loyal of slack channels, #pupperinos. This is where puppers and other four-legged friends go when they die...a heavenly dog park in the sky. Where dog meets dog spelled backwards. Within this sonic landscape, the playful voices of our beloved canine and feline companions roam freely, weaving into the very fabric of the music.
Cape Huggleton
Welcome to Friendship Land, where all creatures, great and small, can be themselves, and be loved for it. The vibe is mid-tempo acid jazz. Feel that brand new heavy. As you gaze up at the purple, misty sky and reckon the origins of these fantastically curious creatures, this wonky, warped and wistful piano track gives you a warm feeling of simultaneous weightlessness and longing.
Once you arrive in the gathering space, you realize everything is and will be okay, so you talk about it with your pals.
The Lollipop
Where childhood, creativity, and the inner mind meet. A colorful landscape of candy and drip castles laced with frosting and psychedelia. Monsters are friends and your friends are monsters. There is an underwater disco at the end of the Lollipop Lazy River and everyone's invited. An Arp 2600 stabs through the humid air while you and your friends try to avoid being sucked down into the chimera's whirlpool.
Gallery Bay
A awe-inspiring art tunnel wallpapered. Off the main gallery was a crowd favorite, a small alcove that offered 3D air drawing. As the sun goes down, crickets, frogs, and otherworldly critters begin their nightly reverie-slash-beatboxing session. Enjoy the depths of Gallery Bay as you drift out to sea from the safety of the tidal estuary. But please, be careful with that crayon!
